Katharina Schelling was born in Bregenz, Austria. After studying Journalism and Slavistics focusing on Russian Language in Vienna and Moscow, she follows her passion of film and studies cinematography at Filmarche Berlin and Film and Televison Academy Berlin. Taught to be very precise with grammar and language structures during her studies, she uses those skills in order to translate ideas into pictures, concepts into visuals, dreams into films. She has the full understanding of the complexities and individual necessities of each unique project. She approaches everything with a fresh new unrestrained outlook. Her films have been shown at different festivals, such as Berlinale Forum, Premiers Plans and Max Ophüls Festival. Katharina Schelling lives and works in Berlin.
